Object of Lust // Zara Boots

Boots are my shoe obsession. I owe a good amount of boots and yet I still want/need more!

These two-tone beauties from Zara are my current object of lust, admittely I have a very similar pair from Topshop in dark blue velvet which are the exact same shape. My thinking is that velvet is not as durable as leather so I could buy these boots to save the velvet ones from being worn in the ground? right!?

Object of Lust // Minnetonka Boots

 Minnetonka

Currently I am massively lusting after a pair of Minnetonka boots. I keep conjuring up outfits in my mind with a pair on my feet! I may need to turn this obsession into a reality and purchase a pair.

Are there any must have items you are currently lusting over?

Brighton - What we Wore

We popped to Brighton on the bank holiday Monday for a really fun trip! We spent part of our day messing about, playing bat and ball and generally enjoying the lovely beach, here are the outfits we sported for our day of fun. Nicci is sporting a vintage dress from the Seek and Revive kilo sale and my dress is from Paper Dress

Check back in the next few days for all that we got up to in Brighton (it definitely involved waltzers!)

Style Inspiration - Mary Kate Olsen

With our impending group trip to Field Day this Saturday and the beginning of the festival season my mind starts to wonder to what I suppose would be termed 'Festival Style'. As a general rule I don't tend to think of style or dressing in this way but I love the aesthetic that comes with festival dressing and probably spend a lot of my time looking like I'm at festival. 70s style is my go to inspiration for most looks and one person I think epitomises a modern 70s look is Mary Kate Olsen, I am completely in love with what she wore to this year's Met Ball (shown in the second photograph below) The quote in the last photograph is a good mantra for buying vintage and for dressing completely to your own tastes. So if I'm looking to anything for inspiration for getting dressed this Saturday, it's to good ol' MK.

Seek and Revive

We headed to Seek and Revive vintage kilo sale last Saturday and we most certainly hit the vintage goldmine with the excellent stock available. I'm not sure whether word had not got out yet but it was much quieter than others and had an easier, less stressful air about it. We ended up staying there for 2 and a half hours, so that just shows how much good stuff there was to rummage through!

Amongst my haul I ended up with at least 4 dresses, 2 jackets, 2 shirts, 2 jumpers, 2 skirts,1 pair of cullotes. I say at least as I still haven't quite got to grips with everything that I brought home!

The next sale is on 1st June and I'll be there again, probably buried under a mountain of clothes!

Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits

For some reason my current obsession is jumpsuits. I saw some in Beyond Retro the other week and I can't stop thinking that they may be the perfect spring/summer item. And quite crucially with any piece of clothing you could do a cartwheel or handstand without flashing!

Brighton up your day...

Yesterday was the most glorious day and exactly what I needed after what has been a rather stressful week. Doesn't everything just feel better when the sun is out and you're beside the seaside. Here are some snapshots from Brighton, some courtesy of my lovely friend Laura who was much better at remembering to photograph things than me, thanks Laura! I must try harder...

We started the day in the best possible way with, with a humongous breakfast. This was exactly what I needed after my early morning run.

This breakfast was amazing but also a little bit obscene!! I almost finished it but it got the better of me, so good though. Definitely excellent value...

The Beautiful Brighton Pavillion, we sat here for some tea and cake and to soak up the atmosphere, there was a sort of barber shop trio playing some jazzy little numbers and people covering every spare inch of grass with picnic blankets, so lovely.

Bare legs for the first time this year!! There were a few people dazzled by the white-ness but luckily no one got hurt.

We played on the slot machines (I didn't win) went on the waltzers (we were all nearly sick) got candy floss and enjoyed the free deck chairs, then had a lovely dinner before heading back to London, tired but very happy.

I hope your weekend has been just as wonderful.

Fancy Full Fridays- English Riviera

English Riviera

English Riviera by nicci-robertson

I'm going to Brighton this evening, and right now that's all my little brain can think about! Too excited to be at work! I'm meeting up with some of my lovely friends from Leicester and we're going to have fish and chips here (so good!), then cocktails perhaps here, and then who knows where the night will take us. Usually the two penny slot machines feature though, I have a serious problem with those bad boys!

I love Brighton so much and always have an amazing time, I think part of my soul just feels more alive whenever I'm near the sea. I spent almost a year living on a yacht when I was younger so perhaps that has something to do with it. Either way, with the hope of it being sunny tomorrow I've been picking out some lovely things from the internet which would look perfect beside the seaside.

1) This glittery sunglasses from ASOS are so amazing! They're a great neutral shade but the glitter adds a little something extra, and the round shape is so cute as well.
2) This dress from Topshop has stolen my heart, I love the colour and the beautiful print. It would look equally lovely with bare legs (gasp!) if the sun does show up, or with tights if we're not that lucky.
3) These shoes from Clarks have been on my mental wishlist for quite some time now. I love the cut out detail on the toe and the colour is great for wearing with summer dresses. Plus with Clarks you know you're getting quality (that is my moher speaking right there!)
4) With the sun comes the promise of Al Fresco lunch breaks and wouldn't you be the coolest person in your office if you rocked up with this Bento box! If if you're forced to lunch a la desk you couldn't help but smile at this. The "hair" is actually a bowl which is perfect for eating Miso soup from or for fruit salad.
5) I have got the fairest skin imaginable and at even the slightest suggestion of sunshine I become one big freckle. I also burn so easily but find applying suncream all the time just makes my skin break out. This year I'm planning to invest in this Bare Minerals sunscreen powder. It provides a bit of foundation coverage as well as being factor 30 and won't make my skin greasy. I think she might be the one.

Lucy has some very exciting top secret plans this weekend which I can't divulge right now, but be sure to check back next week for an update, it will be awesome!

Anyway I hope you all have a fantastic weekend whatever you do!
