Fancy Full on tour! // Fancy full Vintage

This time last week saw Fancy Full’s debut into the world of vintage markets! Bright and early (ish), with all our clothes pressed and steamed ready to sell, we packed up a surprising amount of stock and headed on down to Wonderhill Market. The market is set in the Tooting Tram and Social bar, which is a beautiful unique building, it’s also a regular night time haunt of ours and it’s always a little strange being there in the day. We met a few ladies who had been out there the night before and were feeling pretty disorientated which we totally sympathised with!

It took us quite a bit longer to set up than expected, being the perfectionists that we are, people were already coming through the doors while we were putting out our last few items. But we were so pleased with the end results and incredibly proud of our little shop. It was a lot of fun, especially when gin and cake o’clock rolled round at 3pm! Here are a few photos from the day...

Beautiful items from Andapanda and Summerhouse that we were selling on behalf of our very talented family members. My sister handmakes and designs all of the Andapanda stuff and Lucy's mum makes all of the amazing Summerhouse origami cards.

We learnt so much and met some really lovely crafters andvintage sellers. We’re already super keen to plan our next Fancy Full outing so watch this space for details! All the money we made is going right back into buying more stock, so expect to see some photos of all those goodies popping up soon. We’re also in the process of planning an online shop where you can buy the clothes you see in our blog posts and also the other things we’re selling at markets. Exciting times!

Vintage Shopping // Lady Boo's Summer Sizzler

I spent a glorious Saturday at Lady Boo's Summer Sizzler with my lovely friend Sophie Rose. Lady Boo is a wonderful vintage lover and buyer  who has a shop in her attic, I urge you to like on facebook and, if you can, take a trip to the wardrobe of joy! Saturday was the turn for an open house to celebrate the end of summer,  pimms was drunk, cake eaten and lots of vintage togs were tried on! I made a killing in the £10 bargain bin and purchased a blue patterned dress, a red dress/jacket and a rather amazing hat which I have on in the last photograph.

Thanks for having us Lady Boo!

We are super excited to share that Fancy Full will be setting up stall at the next Wonder Hill Handmade and Vintage Market on Saturday 28th September at Tooting Tram and Social.

We will be selling vintage clothing and handmade crafts from our very talented family members. In the run up, we'll be sharing sneak previews of the tresaures that can be found on our stall.

Hope to see lots of lovely faces whilst we're there!

Harrogate

This Saturday I spent a lovely day in Harrogate whilst visiting my lovely family in Leeds. My mum and I paid a very relaxing visit to the Harrogate Turkish Baths which were absolutely beautiful inside and were absolute treat to experience. There was a routine to doing them properly, first we went in the steam room, then it was a quick dip in the plunge pool, then we made our way through three heated rooms which steadily increased in temperature up to 70 degrees, we just repeated this circuit until our time was up. It was absolutely lovely.

Next stop, which is an absolute must for anyone visiting Harrogate, was lunch in Bettys. I can't really do  Bettys justice in words, they are simply the best tea rooms ever.

Afterwards we happened upon a vintage shop called Space Vintage & Retro. They had an excellent selection of clothes, homewares and best of all a great selection of vinyls. There was some beautiful vintage dresses particularly from the 50's and some great pieces of homewares, such as lamps and cushions and I fell in love with a magazine rack but had to leave it behind as I was getting the train back (boohoo!).  If you're in the neighbourhood they are well worth the visit.

I scored a silver lurex crop top, Iggy Pop, Neneh Cherry, Rod Stewart and Kate Bush vinyls. A good haul all round. The north does know how to do a good vintage shop.

Seek & Revive Kilo Sale- Take Two

A couple of weekends ago we were invited down to our second Seek & Revive Kilo sale, which is basically a vintage on a budget shoppers heaven. You buy clothes by weight rather than quantity and pay £15 per Kilo, it works out a total bargain, but you have to be fairly ruthless at the scales sometimes to keep on budget! We always end up going over but it's worth it.

Here are a few snaps from our trip, what we find so good about Seek & Revive is that everything is organised so well and mostly on rails, it makes finding what you're looking for so much easier and less stressful. Things just feel a bit more civilised when you're not head first in a massive bucket scrabbling for items with 5 other girls...strange that....

This PVC catsuit we found was definitely dodgy, Adele is demonstrating the easy access feature...we didn't buy this...

Lucy's skirt of dreams, red suede and the perfect length

Lucy bagged some really cute items including this gorgeous blue dress, for some reason it makes me think of Rainbow Brite. I, on the other hand, decided it would be fun to see how many polka dot items I could wear at once, it's not my best look...

A neatly folded pile of lovelyness.

Thanks for having us again Seek & Revive!

Spin those records

I totally copied the lovely Nicci and purchased myself a record player and it is fast becoming my favourite purchase, possibly of all time. The only issue is that it's now started a new second hand shopping obsession, kitchenware and clothes will probably have to take a back seat for a while whilst I build a vinyl collection. The current holy grail of records for me is Buckingham Nicks, the album Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham released prior to joining Fleetwwod Mac, a few quick scans on eBay tell me that this could be an expensive wish.......

Seek and Revive

We headed to Seek and Revive vintage kilo sale last Saturday and we most certainly hit the vintage goldmine with the excellent stock available. I'm not sure whether word had not got out yet but it was much quieter than others and had an easier, less stressful air about it. We ended up staying there for 2 and a half hours, so that just shows how much good stuff there was to rummage through!

Amongst my haul I ended up with at least 4 dresses, 2 jackets, 2 shirts, 2 jumpers, 2 skirts,1 pair of cullotes. I say at least as I still haven't quite got to grips with everything that I brought home!

The next sale is on 1st June and I'll be there again, probably buried under a mountain of clothes!
